Best practices for capturing patient interactions
Not much needs to be changed about how you conduct your patient visits when using DAX Copilot. Speak naturally and have a genuine conversation with your patient.
Here are some best practices to follow for optimal results. ✓ Obtain consent according to your organization's guidelines before recording your patient interactions.
✓ State patient identification at the beginning of the recording . Say at least 2 patient identifiers as soon as you begin recording. Examples of patient identifiers are name, chief complaint, date of birth, MRN, reason for visit, etc. It’s possible that two different patients share the same (or similar) names, or that DAX Copilot misunderstands the patient’s name. Verbalizing multiple patient identifiers helps you quickly determine which summary corresponds to which patient.
✓ Use DAX Copilot for one patient at a time when recording.
✓ Be sure the microphone of your mobile device is unobstructed when recording. Place the device on a surface near you and the patient, in a clear open area, not in your pocket.
✓ Set your phone to Do Not Disturb to avoid interruptions.
✓ Stop and restart recording any time before editing an encounter. This is useful, for example, when you need to leave the room and come back or review test results.
✓ Use verbal cues to help DAX Copilot understand what is happening during your exam. Continue reading to learn more about verbal cues.
