② Select to start recording . Listening will display and the timer will begin counting.

State patient identification verbally at the beginning of the recording . Start your recording by stating at least 2 patient identifiers. Examples of patient identifiers are patient name, chief complaint, date of birth, MRN (medical record numbers), reason for visit, etc. Consistently starting your recording with patient identifiers will help you keep track of which summary corresponds to which patient when you have multiple summaries to choose from later.

③ Set down your mobile device and proceed with your patient visit. Important : DAX Copilot needs to be able to hear the conversation clearly to create the best summary. Place your device near you and the patient, unobstructed, such as on a desk or table in the room.

The timer will display how long you ’ ve been recording.

• The optimal time for recording is 45 minutes. For more information, review the Recording limitations section of this guide. • If your phone screen goes to sleep, DAX Copilot is still recording. You can even open other applications like text messages or your browser for reference websites. • Incoming phone calls will pause recording temporarily while the call rings. Recording will resume when the call stops ringing (for example, the call goes to voicemail, or you decline the call manually). If you find that incoming phone calls are causing trouble, consider setting your device to Do Not Disturb. • You may stop and restart recording if you need to step away from the patient momentarily.
